Pamper-Her-Friday by Rg2® 127: ‘A Summer’s Romance’ Collection by Rg2 (35)

“No Romantic-Come-Lately”

It’s pampering time, Love,
and I’ve been thinking lately
My promise to make your summer enchanting if you’d date me

A man’s home is his woman
and his woman his castle
My lovemoat surrounds you to extinguish the hassle

Of a workweek that’s callously
taken you for granted
Did they say you’re expendable and still haven’t recanted?

It’s quite alright, babygirl,
I’ve been let go a few times
and finally made peace with my hurts and my rhymes

One must be strong
Are you tired of being strong?
We hate to be wrong but it’s okay to be wrong

The learning becomes a yearning
for the simplest of truths
Like banter and laughter and a hand that soothes

Your professional ambitions
and entrepreneurial instincts
You can ponder with me over jazz and mixed drinks

I’ve been writing and creating,
and investing sweat equity
While quietly longing to share the complexity

Of the mysteries of rejection
what it is I must do
To win your devotion I may have a clue

Your Monday was stormy
and Tuesday so sad
Wednesday was worse, though Thursday less bad

But Friday I designated
that feelings manifest
I’m adamant to fulfill your every request

Have I told you lately
what you mean to me?
More than spoken words, I’m writing my decree:

Now, Friday night
and henceforth evermore
I’ll nurture our romance like those times of yore

When a man didn’t ask
what a woman couldn’t give
You’re my summer’s romance for as long as I live.

“Romance Among the Elements”

It’s Friday, Love,
and SoCal’s still blanketed by this heat check,
It’s just below stifling
but I created something on the deck,

I need you to close your eyes
take my hand, I’ll be your guide,
Nature says we can run to the AC
but in no way can we hide,

From the simmer of global warming
under scientific review,
The thermometer’s up a notch
just as my lust quotient for you,

While having a drink on Monday
I scribbled designs on a napkin
for an artistically distinct Friday
and what it is I’d like to happen,

Open-air ambiance
beneath a tangerine sherbert sky,
Wind-carved boulder stones
and canyon brush to greet the eye,

Glacier water and chilled Moët
to make you forget about your week,
and I’ve written romantic verse
resembling tales from the Greeks,

My Apollo to your Aphrodite,
your body forms among the stars,
Now come down from the heavens–
I want the real-life avatar,

Your fragrance wafting along the air
as dusk announces its arrival,
you’ve worked hard all week, woman–
now it’s time for a body revival,

Endless streams of smooth-edge ice
to cool the surface of your skin,
Frozen pomegranate cubes
trickle-melt to sate my yen,

Rivers of juice matriculating
to the delta of your thighs,
As the moon nods its approval
that I’m so near to the prize,

A sudden quiver and then a shiver
But, how, it’s 91 degrees,
How do you explain this impulsive rush
and the weakness in your knees?

Well, Love, we have a dilemma:
To continue outdoors or take it inside,
I suggest we enjoy the elements
There’s no need to break my stride,

Umm, you feel that naked breeze?
Now take a sip of this Moët,
Now tell me a secret–
a hidden fantasy unexplored yet,

Intimacy night-long under the crescent moon
We’ll thank nature for her benevolence,
You’re lovin’ the ways of my summer’s romance
and endless pampering amidst the elements.

“A Suite Night”

. . . no, I don’t harbor any gynecological fetishes, woman
Well, not that I’m aware,
but if I should probe, I’m starting with your earlobe
I suggest you tie up your hair,

Seven whole days without a touch from you
and you’re just short of an addiction,
We’ve got some nights-long making up to do
and I’m accepting no bodily restrictions,

I made money on Monday, some investments on Wednesday
and stowed away a considerable percent,
Our suite awaits at the Cove at Glenbay
endless champagne by shareholder consent

Why don’t you open the Victoria’s Secret box
while I put Jeffrey and Kem on the Bose,
A no-disturb policy ensures nobody knocks
It’s private pampering time, and no one else knows,

Let’s start you with a Cleopatra milk bath, petals afloat
and a gentle, symphonic rinse,
cradled in my arms your body I will tote
as I take in the essential oil scents,

How’s that? And this? And what about there?
I can feel your clavicle tension,
Alright, now turn over so I can begin your back
and by all means don’t fail to mention,

What it is or where it is along your skinscape
you need me to emphasize,
You like the art of my leg-length kneading
And on the other you’d love a reprise?

I’ve never been much of a ‘Yes’ man, woman
But I guess in this instance I’m human,
Who was it that said, ‘If you can’t stand the heat,
get out of the suite’ . . . wasn’t it President Truman?

Oh, so you laugh at my political humor
and you’ve gone from groan to moan,
My technique on your physique may be cause for rumor
But you’d much prefer that I hone,

My pampering talents of surgical precision
from your toes to your fingertips,
Now turn over, that I may continue my pampering mission
beginning at your sweet lips . . . .

“The Romantic Proposal”

My grandfather once said,
“Love is not a feeling. But an ability.”
Between my able mind and your able heart,
there lives a rare tranquility,

Supernatural in one moment
so earthly simple the next,
Tracing the lines of your tender palms
is like reading a sacred text,

Breath, bone, flesh, and blood
we’re no more than godly dust,
I’ve been quietly seeking love’s meaning
and I believe I’ve found its thrust,

Reluctance is a terrible thing to carry
from sins and hurts of the past,
Go on, compare me to all the others
but I beseech you to contrast,

Their many pros to my several cons
I won’t ask you for the difference,
Just come walk with me and talk with me
Your heart will make its inference,

Buried beneath this summer’s romance
Arisen feelings may seem so recent,
But Robert Redford had it all wrong–
My proposal is highly decent,

One day a laugh, one night a cry
to relinquish the emotional debris,
We’ll take it a shore-walk and hand-hold at a time
And beyond the horizon we’ll see,

That love is not some fleeting feeling
but, rather, an ability,
And my summer’s romance has little meaning
without you next to me,

It’s Friday, my Love, and I henceforth vow:
Pampering beyond the season,
And when autumn announces summer’s end
We’ll only have more reason,

To continue the blessings of time we’ve shared
For you’ve given me the chance,
To propose we take this ever higher
Beyond our summer’s romance.
