Pamper-Her-Friday by Rg2® 276: “Emotional Migration”: ‘A Summer’s Romance’ Collection by Rg2 (76) Vol. IV

Island picnic

“Emotional Migration”

A man loses a woman when he loses her mind
Rarely is it idle, if at all,
In constant motion, more than a notion
There’s only one for whom she falls

Could it be that I’m the ‘fall guy’?
That one who penetrated your wall,
Brick by brick and stone by stone
Blame it on my velvet wrecking ball

The irony of having met you on a Friday
is certainly not lost on me, girl,
“Pampering’s for the weak woman,” you quipped
Remember the verbal daggers you would hurl?

All a vain attempt to deter the inevitable
My stated mission you tried to thwart,
If I’d succeed in simply planting a seed
An opening, there, for emotional support

Would widen each time we said good night
Just a bit more difficult to end the call,
A timely text to you; was I vexing you?
I upped the ante for Peter and Paul

And the coterie of others on your options list
I never discounted my competition,
But none could match my creative advantage
I’ve always trusted my intuition

I understood the matter of closure
for the one who unfortunately predated me,
Time and tears may have been vested
But emotional migration is real, you see

It’s no owner’s game, the heart’s affairs
Fiction is the metaphor of lock and key,
The truth is a woman’s susceptibility
Lies somewhere in depth and degree

The ones before me and those come after
They have no bearing on what you feel,
What will ever remain is the man apart
Emotional migration, woman, is real

No, no wandered thought, no fleeted rush
can describe my pulse that lives in you,
When I fall asleep, it’s your eyes that close
Emotional migration is real, it’s true

Rescued you are from the romantic Hinterlands
An emotional migrant, a drifter no more,
Our home was built on Pamper-Her-Friday
Your lock, my key . . . is our metaphor . . .

Forever.

Pamper-Her-Friday by Rg2® 275: “Meet Me on the Shore”: ‘A Summer’s Romance’ Collection by Rg2 (75) Vol. IV

Pamper-Her-Friday: A Shoreline Affair

Pamper-Her-Friday: A Shoreline Affair

“Meet Me on the Shore”

According to the economic indicators
Today’s woman is an experiential consumer,
Cars and clothing, out; dining and travel, in
Are you ready to substantiate the rumor?

If the experience is what you’re seeking
Come, angel, you’ve found a kindred soul,
I’ll do you one better: Keep your hard-earned money
“The best of life is free?” Yes, that’s my goal

For what is dinner and travel without a heart-mate?
Sure, you possess the self-entertainment gene,
The lack of a cast-mate won’t stop your show
But might a leading man enhance your scene?

What’s become lost between men and women:
Elements as simple as the art of conversation,
That enchanting balance of listening to the other
Even more vital: The art of exhalation

Those moments when you’d like nothing more
than to hear the cadence of your own voice,
Your audience includes me and the ocean tide
A Friday take-her-away in which to rejoice

Is there a grievance from the workplace . . .
Are political pressures taking their toll?
Jealous co-workers becoming unbearable?
Even management has planted a mole

The stakes have never seemed so high
This sustain-a-living vs. sustain-my-happiness equation,
Are you forever chasing equilibrium?
You deserve better, woman, in my estimation

Now, I’m not promising to alter the corporate game
The rules of work engagement are etched in stone,
We all owe ourselves the making of a living
There’s splendor, however, in not going it alone

The secret lies in the ‘experiential’ sharing
A like mind who’s reading of life bears resemblance,
Most of us are paddling upstream, babygirl
But allow me to row your boat for remembrance

Of the times I swept you away from it all
Having set our majestic table on the shoreline,
Making life just a little more bearable
I’ll pop a vintage of your favorite sunset wine

I’ve been listening, observing, and interpreting
My emotional notes of your silent and vocal cries,
Pamper-Her-Friday is my gift to you, Love
I see our summer’s romance in your eyes

Feels so good . . . .

Pamper-Her-Friday by Rg2® 274: ‘Heat Wave Her’: ‘A Summer’s Romance’ Collection by Rg2 (74) Vol. IV

Dinner in the Desert

“Heat Wave Her”

It has arrived to the Valley, full force
Summer heat wave, highs of 108,
No worries, I’ve got the cool drink source
Veritable libations to tempt our fate

I won’t get too close, lest you dehydrate
I dare not cause such an adverse effect,
But in sweet conversation we’ll participate
You’ve a couple of venues from which to select:

The coastline might seem ideal I suppose
But can you imagine the dense population?
I know an inland hideaway for soothing repose
Where open skies engender relaxation

Endless bubbly on ice sounds so very nice
A spring-water pool a pebble’s throw away,
Citrus-bathed salmon over tender-most rice
And we’ll put the pomegranate ice cubes in play

Ahh, yes, I’m in full Pamper-Her-Friday mode
Seven days since your touch, Love, is a crime,
No other woman’s able to crack my code
You may’ve solved the combination this time

A tumultuous week you’ve had? I understand
Your stamina tested by the long work hours,
A few of your law students you had to reprimand
Can I soften your stress with a bouquet of flowers?

Come bare your feet and those lovely shoulders
Why don’t you tie your hair to reveal the neck,
Apply you with water spritz, you’d like it colder?
The bottles are on chill for your call and beck

Live at the amphitheater: Gretchen and Friends
Sultry jazz and pizzazz to fill the air,
Backstage introductions? Well, it all depends . . .
A kiss grants a wish . . . but I need a pair

A quid pro quo, oh, nothing of the sort
I never give with expectation of return,
The pleasure of your romance I’d even plead in court
You’re the spiritual essence of my eternal yearn

It’s time for champagne as I rev my campaign
That you may let me liberally have my way,
I’ll keep you cool, girl, simply be my jewel
Our summer’s romance continues this Friday . . . .

Pamper-Her-Friday by Rg2® 273: ‘What He Won’t Do’

Pamper the woman . . . like a man in love. -Rg2

Pamper the woman . . . like a man in love. -Rg2

“What He Won’t Do”

Each man has his existential limitations
That threshold he simply will not cross,
Until he meets that exceptional woman
His unsuspecting heart reveals who’s boss

Bachelorhood has proven the safest of havens
Ask the tied man whose quiet desperation . . .
cries for a reverse walk up the aisle
An unspoken plea for emancipation

Having chosen carefully, even wisely
Or so he naively thought,
Why does time bring about a change?
A good fight to remain her apple he’s fought

Such is the mystery of the human relation
But if there is a single thing for sure,
There’s a pamperer inside each breathing man
And I’m elated to know he hasn’t a cure

The bachelor holds on to a fragile freedom
Once taken, never to be granted back,
Free agency is quite the precious thing
But what of the part that wants to unpack?

Lurking there, inside, the pamperer within
No, not at all, it’s no personality disorder,
From the lowest pauper to the highest high-roller
Powerless she renders his inner love avoider

Running away from commitment is he
Then she appears in the road ahead,
A detour presents itself an enticing escape
Her road less traveled he takes instead

Her eyes intoxicating, her spirit goddess-esque
“I’m here to enhance your life,” she exudes,
Suddenly his bank ledger is fully balanced
And gone away are the leery moods

What he won’t do for the phenomenal woman
Limitations, they become a thing of the past,
On bended knee her painter he becomes
His romantic instincts are deep and vast

What he won’t do for her, for sanctity of love
The line disappears, threshold dissipates,
Pamper-Her-Friday’s given whole new meaning
Tonight’s the first of a thousand first dates

A man in love . . . .
