“Intimacy for the Holidays”
While it’s easy to forget that many of our
brethren and sistren this season will go without,
I can’t abandon my humble perspective
So I’d like to spread a little cheer about
In a secluded setting beknown to you and me
Bundled Yule logs for a through-the-night fire,
We’ll exchange Christmas tales both fiction and non
I wanna take our intimacy a little higher
I’m thinking less of disrobing your vulnerability
And more about clothing your holiday fear,
I realize your Christmases haven’t always been bright
Ah, but I’ll re-write that narrative this year
What does a man gift a woman who has everything?
Place your head upon my beating heart,
I know of no store which offers it for purchase
I’m the sole proprietor of the pamper-her mart
A one-off, open-solely-to-you boutique
Yours is the only acceptable credit,
I received your confessions-from-the-heart letter
I was so inspired, woman, after I’d read it
Well, this is my confession: Just when I thought
I’d felt all that I could possibly feel,
You come along and redefine romance
and you’ve elevated Christmas’s appeal
I didn’t need an added reason to be thankful
I’ve never taken my blessings for granted,
I hadn’t even bothered with a wish list
For it most likely would have been slanted
Towards things that offer little meaning
In the greater scope of what it is we need,
Warm touch, an even warmer intimacy
To you I’ll be generous in both word and deed
Intimacy is not disrobing a woman’s body
Rather, it’s clothing her naked fears,
I suggest we live out the true meaning of giving
as that very special Pamper-Her-Friday nears . . . .
