“A Summer Sanaa”
It had all the markings
of a summer of discontent
From emotional helter skelter
to the swelter of unrelent
Restless one night and feckless the next
The distance granted me no mercy
A cool drink of glacier water you appeared
Didn’t realize I was so damn thirsty
Quenching, you, so drenching, you
Woman, pour over me like a niagara fall
If you’ll wade in me, I’ll bathe in you
I’m the one man who has the gall
To think mine are the only hands that matter
For simple are my intimate demands
Lie there, still, while I spy there, feel
Welcome to my summer’s romance
So naughty, me, so haughty, you
Woman, come off your horse on high
This stifling heat need not mistreat
Is there something along your thigh?
Oh, my palm, a silly mind of its own
but exquisitely cool to the touch
Your eyes are fierce but fearful they’re not
Unafraid I’ll take too much
Free-will relations with no stipulations
The stars have given us their consent
No work in the morning, I’ll continue adorning
Your bare essence may have me repent
From fingergifts to tonguedrifts to pelviclifts
Ah, woman, the heat is on
We’ll melt from the smother then meld in one another
From sundown to the break of dawn . . . .
